WELCOME

Welcome to the site, lets start with a little history. The Hillvalley and Western is a fictional railroad located north of Oakland. Placed in a time band around 1957 although in my world diesel power is still struggling to get a hold.
The layout is 24'x12' at the moment but a 28'x24' extension is well under way. this will allow main line trains to run from Oakland(staging) to Portland (staging) with a lot of compression in the middle. The town of HV has its own branch line, HV&W which conacts with the Southern Pacific at Hillvalley

As I wrote in my last blog the town of Hillvalley, has it's own shortline the HV&W of which the town folk are very proud. It runs from HV south to the town of "Western" and from there on to the wharf and oil storage area. They own two loco's, a 0-6-0 switcher and a doodle bug, the later running a worker service once a dayfrom town to the wharf, returning after work at five. Track is tired and some grades are tough and so for larger frieght loads the assistance of Southern Pacific is called upon.
